Welcome! For those of you that don’t know me personally just a little about myself to start. I am a 39 year old (40 in June), eDiscovery Review Manager that lives in Michigan. I bought a home in Michigan almost 5 years ago so that is home base. I am not someone that travels or blogs for a living (I wish!) and I definitely have bills to pay so my travels are done on a budget. Big trips (overseas) are done with my best friend of 20+ years Jenni. Smaller trips are typically done with Jenni, my mom or my nieces.
The traveling I do is typically one large overseas trip every other year and several smaller trips either in Michigan or in the United States throughout the year.
Now on to what you’ll get from this blog.
- Travel Posts- I’ll give you updates on trips I have taken and tips I picked up along the way of those trips.
- Travel tips- Tips that I find particularly helpful for any type of traveling like packing and planning tips.
- Reviews of places that I have been to around my own area of Michigan and tips for those that might be visiting Metro Detroit.
- Posts on craft breweries. My mom and I like to visit various breweries and work them into our trips or make a special day trip to visit the more local breweries.
- Photographs- Some of these will be in the post of the places I traveled. Others may be on their own posts and I will try to include any tips I have for capturing the shot I got. I am no professional photographer and I have a very laid back attitude about taking my photos. You will not find me setting up a tripod and spending hours trying to capture the perfect shot (except for the Northern Lights which require that kind of patience).
- Hockey trips- I am a huge Detroit Red Wings fan and working my way through seeing the Wings play in every NHL arena. I have done Dallas, Tampa Bay, Florida, Minnesota, Chicago and Columbus.
The plan is to give you the large trip posts in groups so you don’t have to wait months for all the details about a trip. I have four large trips to tell you about: Antarctica and Buenos Aires in 2023, Iceland for 10 days in 2019, Ireland for 12 days in 2017 and Berlin and Prague for a combined 7 days in 2015.
Let me know what you want to hear about most. Would you like to know how we travel for nearly two weeks on roughly $3000/person including airfare? Would you like to know which bags I pack in for which trips?
